Rwanda Gorilla

Day 1: Kigali /Volcanoes National Park

  • Upon arrival at Kigali/airport, meet and greet our representative. Time permitting, Kigali City tour; including a stop at the Kigali genocide museum.

  • Lunch at one of the local restaurants

  • Afternoon drive to Volcanoes National Park for check-in, dinner, and overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla tracking/ Kigali

  • “Coming face to face with a giant Silverback is one of the greatest wildlife experiences on earth!”

  • After an early breakfast, drive to Volcanoes National Park headquarters, where you are assigned a gorilla-tracking group.

  • 07:00 am: Reporting time at Visitor Information/registration Centre at Park office is. After a briefing by your trackers, drive to the trailhead for the start of this amazing adventure. Your exhilarating trek follows the footsteps of the rare and critically endangered Mountain Gorillas.

  • Entering the national park, you are instantly immersed in the mysterious intimacy of the rainforest, alive with colorful butterflies and hypnotic bird calls. You can see the magnificent Virunga Mountains peeking through gaps in the canopy. Weave through overhanging vines, moss-covered hagenia, and giant lobelias until your experienced guide leads you through the forest to a gorilla family.

  • Upon sighting the gorillas, immerse yourself with them for a magical hour as they go about their daily life, feeding, playing, resting, and raising their families.

  • Return to your lodge for lunch, followed by a scenic drive back to Kigali.

NB: Based on the location of the gorillas, trekking may take up to 8 hours of hiking through a lush jungle with uneven terrain, slippery slopes, and steep, muddy trails!

Rwanda gorilla and Lake Kivu

2 nights/3 days

Day 2: Gorilla tracking/ Iby’iwacu cultural village/ Lake

  • After an early breakfast, drive to Volcanoes National Park headquarters, where you are assigned a gorilla-tracking group.

Day 3: Lake/ Kigali

  • After your well-deserved breakfast, your driver guide will pick you up and take you on a Gisenyi tour to visit Rwanda’s largest brewery firm, Nyamyumba Hot springs, Mount Gisenyi, tea & coffee plantations, and a guided boat ride, visit some of the Lake Kivu wonders.

  • Enjoy Lunch and head back to Kigali.
